James H. Bowen Dead.
Following a stroke of paralysis on Christmas Day, James H. Bowen died at the home of his son-in-law Gus Stracener, near Oneonta Sunday. Mr. Bowen was 63 years of age and was a member of the Baptist Church at Tarrant where he had made his home for a number of years. He was reared near Oneonta and had only a few months ago moved back to his farm. The deceased is survived by his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Gus Stracener of Oneonta; Mrs. Clyde Mitchell of Birmingham; Mrs. Oscar Marsh of Tarrant; his mother, Mrs. J.T. Barnett of route 1, Liberty. The funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Oneonta Monday and were conducted by Rev. R.F. Stuckey, pastor of the Baptist Church at Tarrant, and Rev. G.W. Elliot, Pastor of the M.E. Church at Tarrant. The interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
