Mrs. Diane Astin, age 67, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, in Forrest City. Mrs. Astin was born Sept. 19, 1941, in Forrest City, the daughter of James Earl Wilson and Ernestine Gordon Wilson. Mrs. Astin was a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church where she was a choir member. She was also a member of the Musical Coterie. Mrs. Astin married Darrell Astin in 1960 and he survives him along with a daughter, Angela Knight of Wynne; two sons, Lowry Astin of Forrest City and Dudley Astin of Fort Smith; a sister, Nancy Kidd of Forrest City; two brothers, Jim G. Wilson of Mableville and Rev. Milton L. Wilson of Lecompte, La.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters. Visitation for Mrs. Astin will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery. The family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Music Department, 507 North Rosser, Forrest City, AR 72335.
