Second Lieutenant Royal Flying Corps
For 2½ years he had served with the Honourable Artillery Company. He was severely wounded in France. He was then appointed to a commission as Second Lieutenant in the Royal Flying Corps in early March 1918. Shortly after he was sadly killed in an air accident in Northumberland aged 23 yrs. He was buried on the 1st April 1918.
