Helen Zellers Tienken, 95, widow of the late Ernest Ortmann Tienken, died Monday, March 24, 2014 at NHC of Anderson, SC.

Born in Wilmington, NC, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Minnie Lewis Zellers.

She was a retired bookkeeper.

She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Wilmington.

Survivors include a daughter; Cheryl Gafford; a son, Ernest (Fred) Tienken and wife, Celeste; three grandchildren, Gregory Gafford, Laura M. Richardson and husband, B.J., and Matthew E. Tienken; and two great grandchildren, Aiden and Annabelle Richardson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Henry "Buddy" Zellers, Jr. and four sisters, Mary Edna Asendorf, Annie Rae Bailey, Ruth Vivian Guthrie and Fannie Mae Van Sickle.
