Joseph D. Zabler, Sr., 88, of 120 E. Cleveland Ave., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly
Friday afternoon at home.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Dale Tutje will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mr. Zabler was born April 3, 1888, at Burlington, Wis., son of the late Frederick
and Martha Moore Zabler. He moved to Manitowoc in 1917, residing here since. Mr.
Zabler was an insurance agent for North American Life and Casualty Co., retiring
in 1960. He married LeNora Henrich Oct. 7, 1914, at Watertown. She preceded him
in death Nov. 30, 1959. He married Mildred Maples Sept. 4, 1962, at Burlington.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Men's Group of the church and Izaak
Walton League.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred, a son, Joseph Zabler, Jr., of Manitowoc; two
daughters, Mrs. Sherb (Louise) Meyer, of Manitowoc and Mrs. James (Elizabeth Ann)
Good Sr., of Orem, Utah; a step-son, Jack Van de Grif, of Manitowoc; three step-
daughters, Mrs. P. C. (Jene) Traub, of Garden Grove, Calif., Mrs. A. E. (Mid)
Belinske, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Roy (Jeri) Miller, of Meadowlands, Minn., 14
grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Four brothers and a sister preceded
him in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and
Monday until the time of service.
