Shortly after he was 10 years of age his parents brought their family to Indiana. With Rev J J Kuntz as the officiating minister, he was united in marriage with Jannettie C House, on December 23, 1880. They established their home in Mulberry on February 9, 1881, living all their wedded life in that one house.
The deceased served as a teacher in Sunday school since 1881, and had ben teaching the same class since 1903. In 1895 he was elected as chairman of the building committee of Trinity Reformed church, this committee consisting of Mr Yundt, Francis H Yundt, Joseph Weidner, Ephraim Rothenberger, and W A Smith. Under their care and oversight, was built the church building in which the congregation now makes its home. With the passing of the chairman of the committee, all the members of this group have journeyed to the Great Beyond. He had served for a number of years as secretary of the consistory and also for quite a period was one of the trustees of the Fair Haven cemetery.
-----
In his business life, Mr. Yundt began with the purchase, in the spring of 1880, of a general store owned by Joseph Weidner. In 1888 he built the brick building now occupied by the Weidner store. He continued in this general store until 1909, when he sold it to Albert and Oscar Weidner. Three years previous to his quitting the general merchandise business, he had gone into the implement business with Joe Davis as manager. On Jan. 7, 1906, the Mulberry state Bank was opened, which institution he served as president until Aug. 5, 1925. After resignation of this position he continued actively in the implement business with John W. Reed as manager (this connection having been begun in 1915).
