David Francis Yundt, 91, died at 1:15 pm Wednesday, June 16, 2004, in Rosewalk Village, where he had resided since the summer of 2000. He had been ill since January. Born November 20, 1912, in Sheffield Township in Tippecanoe County, he lived in Washington Township in Clinton county and the Mulberry area most of his life. He attended Newcomer School and Dayton elementary School and graduated from Dayton High School in 1931. He attended Purdue University for two years. On March 28, 1936, he married Martha M Snyder in Clinton county. She died June 12. Mr Yundt farmed in Washington township. He was a life member of Trinity United church of Christ in Mulberry, where he was an elder, deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a 50 year-member of Mulberry Lodge 618 F & AM. Surviving are three daughters Patricia Louise Engler of Otterbein, Sharon Ann Pottenger (husband: Richard) of Clifton Park, NY, and Janet Sue Jackson (husband
Thomas) of West Lafayette; and one brother, Floyd Jay Yundt (wife: Minnie) of rural Lafayette.
Funeral Friday at Bodine Funeral Home, Mulberry. Interment at Fair Haven Cemetery. Survivors include 6 grandchildren, J Kevin Engler (wife, Mario) Laurie C Schell (husband, Kenneth) Bert S Engler (wife, Melissa), Brian P Pottenger, Jay N Pottenger, and Mindy R Blake (husband Nick), 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Blanche Timmons Yundt, and sister Hazel Emery. Memorials to Trinity United Church of Christ.
