Arthur was the son of Charles Augustus Young and Francis Harriet Pidge. He was 1st married to Annie Maria Manchester Hill, in September of 1887. Annie was sister to Arthur's brother's wife, Hattie Lewis Manchester Young! Annie had been married once before.
Arthur and his brother Frank started a fancy paper box company called Young Brother's, In Rhode Island. It was very successful and was later handed down to Frank's 2 sons, Arthur remained a partner. One of the sons, Everett, along with Arthur, attempted to bilk the other son (my grandfather, Lewis Douglas Young out of the profits from the company . He caught them and wire tapped their phone to get proof. He was able to take the information to court and won, but by then all the proceeds were gone. This was the first case on record where wire tapping was used in a court of law. Douglas then started his own fancy paper box company to great success.
After Arthur's wife died in 1948. He then married his young housekeeper, Annie White, from Nova Scotia. She eventually inherited from Arthur, an incredible estate of antiques. Arthur died at 242 Roger Williams Avenue, Providence, RI. (The lot is now, 2010, empty).
The picture of Arthur was taken on an outing with friends and family, to Narragansett Pier, Rhode Island in 1918.
