She and her husband ( ______ Major), a veteran of the War of 1812, were married in 1856. He apparently died between 1864 and 1870, since in the 1870 and 1880 censuses, she was Head of Household with five children. In 1886, she married Hiram Skidmore.
Ella Major, who is also buried in this plot, was the wife of James Buchcanan Major and a daughter-in-law of Adeline.
