Former Resident is Buried Here; Dies at Waverly
Funeral services were held this afternoon at one-thirty from the Mahlum and Anderson funeral chapel for Mrs. Helen McAffee, 83, mother of W. L. and L. A. McAffee of this city. Mrs. McAffee died on Monday [January 16, 1933] night at Waverly after a month's illness. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery. Mrs. McAffee had enjoyed remarkable good health for one of her years until her last illness. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, January 19, 1933)

Waverly, Ia. – Mrs. Helen McAffee, 83, died here Monday after an illness of about two years. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kaiser's funeral home with Rev. Giles Sharpley of the Episcopal church officiating.
She was born in Buron, Ill. Her home had been in Waverly for 18 years. She had been residing with a niece, Miss Almeda McAffee. Survivors are two sons, Leslie and Willis, both of Estherville. (Waterloo Daily Courier, Waterloo, IA, January 17, 1933)
