Mary was born Nov. 21, 1956 in Beech Grove, Indiana.
She married Arnold Smitty on June 9, 2003 in Tennessee.
Mary was employed with United Hospital Services for 13 years in Indianapolis as a lead supervisor.
She enjoyed puzzles and spending time with her family. She was a big NASCAR fan, going to races in Indiana, Florida and North Carolina.
Survivors include her husband Arnold Smitty of Indianapolis, two children, Sabrina (Dale) Hardin of Greenwood and Jason( Jennifer) Childers of Indianapolis, four step-children, Amanda (Robbie) Thayer of Florida, Misty( Brian) Bruhn of Bargersville, Chris Smitty of Greenwood and Arnold Jr.(Tiffany) Smitty of Coatsville, two sisters, Melinda Oaks of Kentucky and Tricia Cathcart of Indianapolis, a brother, Dwayne York of Kentucky and 16 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmund and Runnel York.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Liberty Tabernacle Church, 6177 N. Co. Rd.75 W., New Whiteland, Indiana 46184.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Burial will be at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
