"Mr. Charles T. Yerkes died yesterday at his residence in this city, in the seventy-sixth year of his age. He was the father of Mr. Charles T. Yerkes, Jr., the well-known broker, and in his earlier life was prominent in financial circles. He continued in active business almost to the last, having been elected the first of the current year to the office of assistant cashier of the Third National Bank. Some years ago he was chosen to the presidency of the Kensington National Bank, and throughout his career was noted for his ability as a financier."
