Andrew Yaryan was the 4th of 7 children of Jacob Yaryan and Sarah Bedell.
He was born in Union County, Indiana, and came to Wapello County, Iowa, between 1845 and 1848 where he was living with his family at the time of the 1850 and 1860 census. He served in the Civil War in Company E, 22nd Iowa Infantry as was killed in action. His brother, William Bedell Yaryan, served as a sergeant in the same company. Andrew is not known to have been married.
