His father was William Henry Yarwood Jr. and his mother, Maria (Cookingham) Yarwood. They left Indiana and came to Lincoln County, Washington in 1894 where he had family.

As a young man he taught school at Sprague and Mohler. In the early 1900's he worked in the mines in Stevens County, WA.

He married Theresa Janette "Tess" Himmelspach 28 November 1903 Spokane County, WA.

In 1906 they moved to Mohler, Lincoln County, WA and farmed at Mohler for 40 years. They in 1947 then moved into the town of Davenport, WA.

He served as a school director for 25 years in the Mohler school district and having good programs was important to him.

Charles E. Yarwood
Mary Elizabeth Yarwood
Wilma Yarwood Baker
Marie Yarwood Borck
and
Anna J. Yarwood Berg
