Betty J. Bruckner , 86, of Council Grove, KS passed away January 7, 2014, at Diversicare of Council Grove.
She was born December 3, 1927 to Harold Winfred and Emily Elizabeth (Carter) Yadon.
Betty married Chester "Chet" Bruckner December 31, 1946. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1984.
She graduated from Council Grove High School in 1945, and attended Brown Mackie business school. She worked as a legal secretary for several years and later as clerk and deputy county treasurer for Morris County and was a homemaker. Betty was a member of the United Methodist Church. She belonged to various card and breakfast clubs and a bowling group. She volunteered at the Senior Center for many years.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Debbie Howe and husband Ken of Blue Springs, MO, Bonnie Morrow of Council Grove, KS and Cathie Thurston and husband Tom of Prairie Village, KS; grandchildren Kevin Howe, St. Louis, MO, Brian Howe, Blue Springs, MO, Ryan Morrow, Emporia, KS and Lauren Morrow, Council Grove, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son-in-law Tim Morrow, and granddaughter Kimberly Howe.
At Betty's request, she was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, January 17, 2014 at Greenwood Cemetery. Following the service, the family will greet friends at Penwell-Gabel Community Room.
