William P. Wyatt was born Nov 1845, in Virgina, to parents Enoch Wyatt (1799-1858), and Edith Elizabeth Love (1809-1879), both born in North Carolina.
William was the eighth child in a family of nine known children. His brothers and sisters were: John Wyatt, born in North Carolina in 1832, and the following who were born in Virginia: Caleb, 1835; Mourning, 1836; Stephen, 1838; Archilus, 1841; Rhoda, 1843:, Comfort, 1845; and Daniel, 1849.
About 1868, William married Melvina E. McIntire (1844-1909), born in Kentucky. Melvina was a daughter of Nicholas McIntire (1802-1859) and Eliza D. Sims (1802-1892), both born in Kentucky.
William and Melvina settled first in Rowan County where William was a sheriff, later moving to Fayette County where he was a merchant. They had six known children, including their first daughter who died in infancy in 1869. Their other sons and one more daughter were: Lawson D. Wyatt (1870-1923), James F. Wyatt (1872-1875), George Reese Wyatt (1875-1921), Mary Wyatt (1877-1877), and William French Wyatt (1880-), all born in Kentucky.
William died on Nov 26, 1908 in Fayette County. Both he and Melvina are buried in the Carlisle Cemetery.
