Vannette M. Updyke, age 86, of Perry, Michigan, passed away at Memorial Heathcare Center.

Mrs. Updyke was born on May 1, 1921 on the family farm in Locke Township, the daughter of Lee & Mabel Hart (Culpepper) Wright. She was a graduate of Perry High School, the class of 1939.
On February 14, 1942 she married Russell R. Updyke in Flint, MI, and he predeceased her on December 27, 2004.
Vannette enjoyed quilting and reading. She worked on the election board in Woodhull Township for many years and was involved in Scouts and was a member of the Kings Daughters.
She was survived by her children: Nikki & Joel Cunningham of Morrice, MI., Craig & Karen Updyke of Lowell, AR., and Pam Bohnett & Bob Nowlin of Laingsburg, MI. Grandchildren: Amie & Criss Minich of Richmond, VA, Lori & Kelly Collier of Fayetteville, AR, Jennifer Bohnett Laingsburg, MI, Richard Wheeler & Lesley Campbell of Flint, MI. Great Grandchildren: Tricia Wheeler & Lauren Campbell of Flint, Ryan and Claire Minich, Rylee Martindale, Zachary & Gabriel Minich.Her sister Jacqulyn Lenore Worthington of Lansing, MI. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, grandsons Matthew S. Cunningham and Matthew J. Cunningham and great granddaughter Emma Alysee Minich. Two sisters and two brothers.
