Joan N. Womble, 68, of Lafayette, died at 9:36 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Central hospital.
She was born Nov. 28, 1942 in East Canton, Ohio to the late Harley and Garnet Sands Wright. She married Theodore "Ted" Womble on Oct. 14, 1978 in Fowler. He died in 1985.She was also preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Diana Dubes, 8 brothers, and 7 sisters.
Surviving are one daughter, Donna Martin of Lafayette; five stepdaughters, Donna Balser and Carolyn Kilmore of Lafayette, Shryll Heichelbech of Clarks Hill, Debra Womble of Otterbein and Marilyn Hopkins of West Lafayette; three sisters, Violet Johnson of Danville, Illinois and Bonnie Brockman and Janet Crider of Lafayette; three brothers, Jack Wright and Larry Wright of Ohio and Charles Wright of Lafayette; two grandsons: Rodney (wife: Jill) Plante of West Point and Randall Plante of Yelm, Washington and two great-grandsons, Ryder and Reagan Plante.
