Ruth Smith Wright, 75, of Blacksburg, died Wednesday, November 3, 1993, at the home of her daughter after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Wright was a longtime member of the Harvest Baptist Church of Blacksburg. She was a resident of Warm Hearth Village for several years, where she enjoyed caring for others in their great times of need. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Rozel Wright; a daughter, Mary Elouise Moore. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Wright Hudson Reed, Blacksburg; one brother, Samuel Smith; one sister, Mary Flowers Reed, both of Roanoke; one grandson, Pete Hudson, Christiansburg; four granddaughters, Angela K. Moore, Blacksburg, Pamela Moore Hughes, Roanoke, Lisa Moore Dowdy, Christiansburg, Mary Alyce Hudson Price, Claxton, Tenn; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 5, at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Sam Hancock officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New River Valley Hospice, Inc., P.O. Box 10896, Blacksburg, VA. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
