Linda Sue(Worth)Jomes, 57, of Odessa, Texas, formerly of Ottumwa, took her final bow early Feb, 12, 2012, when she peacefully went into the arms of her welcoming Savior.
Linda was born on July, 22, 1954, in Ottumwa to Marvin and Lu Ellen Worth. Linda was the third/middle child in a family of five siblings. Linda married the love of her life, Michael Jones, on May 4, 1974. They have two children, Diana and Aaron.
Linda began her walk with the Lord in childhood, loved the Lord her entire life and gave her children the most important gift, a Christian heritage. She had many different careers throughout her life including being a ministry assistant at Odessa. Linda did not have any grandchildren of her own, but she was still the best "surrogate" grandma that her great-nieces and nephews could ask for. They loved her famous slumber parties and would argue, "I get to stay with Linda, it's my turn." She made certain to have their favorite snacks in the Kitchen and TV shows on DVR. Linda had a significant impact on the lives of family and friends. Everyone remembers her for being their surrogate mom. She is most notably remembered for investing in the lives of people as an encourager and confidant, leaving many people saying, "I don't know where I'd be today without her influence in my life." The people who knew her best describe her as feisty and funny.
Linda is survived by her mother and father, Marvin and LuEllen Worth of Ottumwa; her husband, Mike Jones of Odessa, Texas; a daughter, Diana Jones of Odessa, Tesas; a son, Aaron Jones of Odessa, Texas; a sister, Pam Frederick-McKnight of Arlington, Texas; and two brothers, Dennis Worth of Ottumwa and Brad Worth of Lancaster, MO.
Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Diane Worth Gaule.
Memorial services will be at 2 pm Monday at the The Way of Peace Ministries, 429 S. Milner St., in Ottumwa; with her mother and daughter presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that gifts be made in memory of Linda Jones to The Way of Peace Ministries.
