I rember when we lived in the Bronx my father would save up pennys.Every Easter he would get all the kids from the building out front. Then throw the pennys from the jar all over what you found you kept.

I never will forget the time we moved to Smallwood.living in the city with all the lights at night .Then going there with no lights on the road you couldnt even see your hand.Lucky I had my dog Beauty on my lap .There was no doubt of fear.
My father taught me in the years to come about nature .

Also how to survive in the woods.
Every christmas we would pick a tree from the island on the lake.
Many a time we also went ice fishing,Every day after school the first thing i did was my chores.
Then went fishing,My first boat was a canoe bright red ,found it under water,It had leaks my father showed me how to repair it with tree sap it worked,
at one time we both were trying to catch the same pickrel,Well he won that one it was 24 in long to 11yr old thats big,boy didnt we tease each other,
As kids we also collected turtle eggs from the beach, to find them is also a trick,In the winter time I rember we used to get a dump truck of fire wood unsplit well guess who did it when my father wasn,t home one an only at about 11- 12 yrs old some times the wood was too long we had to use the two man saw, some times by myself,
