Jane Woodruff Kearns, 92, of Locust Grove, Va., and also Culpeper, Va., passed away on March 15, 2017.
She grew up in Fair Haven, N.J., and graduated from Rumson High School, attended Parson's School of Design and Syracuse College of Fine Arts.
Jane was a wonderful mother, friend and talented artist. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
She was involved in numerous community organizations to include: Culpeper Minute Men Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Ex-Regent; United Daughters of the Confederacy; Order of the Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century; Thomas Lord Culpeper Chapter Virginia Federation of Woman's Clubs, Northern District Past President and State Fine Arts Chairman; the Culpeper Choral Society; The Lake of the Woods Players; and the Lake of the Woods Visual Arts Council. She also conceived and directed the Pink Ladies Follies for the benefit of the Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
She was predeceased by her father and step-mother, Franklin and Helen Woodruff; her mother and step-father, Janet Warren Woodruff Seiler and Marion L. Seiler; her brother, Franklin Woodruff Jr. and his wife Mary Ellen; her brother-in-law Douglas F. MacConnell; and her former husband, John Taylor Stark Kearns.
She is survived by her sisters Virginia Woodruff MacConnell (Douglas); Sarah J. Seiler Ogden (Duncan); Angela Seiler Hill (Robert); and brother Norman C. Seiler (Mary Ann).
She is also survived by her daughters Janet Warren LaValley (Lawrence), and Virginia Woodruff Stinnett, and her son James Clifford Stark Kearns (Beth); her six grandchildren, Amanda S. LaValley Lindquist, John Taylor L. LaValley, Seth W. LaValley, Elizabeth E. LaValley, Claire Woodruff Stinnett and James Hunter S. Kearns; eight great-grandchildren; Isabelle S. LaValley, Zoey Jane Lindquist, and Leo, Jonnie and Charles LaValley, Aleyda and Alysia Avechuco and Eli LaValley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and -nephews.

Services will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017, at Little Fork Episcopal Church in Rixeyville, Va. at 11:00am
A burial will follow the service and a time of fellowship will follow all services to be held at the church fellowship hall.
