Swannanoa - Wilma Wolfe Baker, 79, of 80 Riverwood Road, died Monday, Sept. 25, 1995, at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Buncombe County, she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She taught school in the public schools of Concord. She moved in the 1940s with her husband, Ulmont W. Baker, Sr.. to Swannanoah, where they operated a dairy farm until 1980. They have continued to farm through their retirement. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Swannanoa. Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Ulmont W. Baker, Jr., of Arden, Ronald W. Baker of Destin, Fla., Michael C. Baker of Telford, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Piney Grove Cemetery. The Rev. James Skelton will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the home, 80 Riverwood Road, Swannanoa. Memorials may be made to either the Building Fund or Cemetery Fund at First Presbyterian Church, Swannanoa. Brigman's Valley Funeral Service, Black Mountain, is in charge of arrangements.
