Rick C. Wirtz, age 47, of Malone, died Saturday, August 28, 2010.
Rick was born May 25, 1963 in Fond du Lac to Charles O. and Marilyn J. (Thiel) Wirtz. The family moved to Sheboygan where he attended local schools.
He enlisted in the US Air Force where he was stationed in North Dakota, Korea, and Italy.
For a number of years Rick worked as a correctional officer at the Sheboygan Co. Sheriff's Dept. and was currently employed at Quad Graphics.
Rick thoroughly enjoyed fishing with his friends.
He is survived by his mother, Marilyn J. Wirtz of Sheboygan; his father, Charles O. Wirtz of Two Rivers; his daughter, Amanda J. (Joshua Mueller) Wirtz of Mayville; three sisters, Kathleen A. Schultz of San Diego, CA, Deborah L. Wirtz of North Fond du Lac, and Wendy S. (David) Larsen of Denmark, WI; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Ballhorn Chapels. Rev. Gregory S. Whelton will officiate.
