She was a school teacher for 27 years, 18 of which she taught at North Daviess, Coffey, MO. She graduated High School from Tarkio, MO. She received a Bachelor's Degree from Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, MO and a Master's Degree from William Woods University, Liberty, MO. She was a member of the Missouri State Teacher's Association.
