Alice (Winslow) Herre, 91
Yarmouthport – Alice (Winslow) Herre, 91, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, following a long illness.
She was born June 23, 1915, in Somerville to the late Herbert and Christabel (Ruggles) Winslow of Brewster and Somerville. Her brother, Herbert Ruggles Winslow, preceded her in death in World War II.
She was long known as the Weaver Lady at the Old Grist Mill in Brewster for many years, and wove there every summer until she was 90 years old. She was a lifetime member of the Pythian Sisters, and was a state officer in the organization. She was also a member of the Brewster Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Marguerite Dixon of Dawsonville, Ga., and Ruth Parker of Williston, Fla.; grandchildren, Sondra Harper, Karin Karsanyi, Eric Parker and Dennis Parker; three great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; one great-great-granddaughter; and her caretaker of many years, Sharon Wetherbee.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, Jan. 27 in Harwich Center Cemetery, Harwich.
