From the Fort Worth Star-Telegram:
DALLAS -- After her 2½-year battle with breast cancer, Celia Carol Winn Spaans went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, May 27, 1998. She is now wearing a crown of righteousness with our Savior Jesus Christ.

A memorial service is at 5 p.m. Saturday at Park Cities Presbyterian Church, 4124 Oak Lawn in Dallas. A reception will follow.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith."' (2 Timothy 4:7)

Born in Fort Worth on April 19, 1962, Celia grew up in Burleson, graduating from Burleson High School in 1980. After earning a degree in management information systems from Texas Tech in 1984, Celia worked at Rockwell International as a computer programmer for six years. She devoted her life to serving her family, friends and her church. Celia was a dedicated member of Park Cities Presbyterian Church, where she served as a child-care worker, was active in the Disciples Sunday School Class and committed herself to studying God's word -- through numerous Precepts Bible Studies and prayer groups.

Celia served as past co-president of Lochwood Parents Club and started a Moms in Touch prayer group for Highlander School. Above all, Celia was His soldier without complaint and His humble servant persevering in adversity. She stood on God's promises and now has received Victory in Jesus.

Left to carry on her legacy are her husband, David, and daughters, Samantha, Shannon and Stacey of Dallas; parents, Herschel and Carolyn Winn of Fort Worth; sister, Macey Conradt of Coppell; and grandmother, Ruby Martin of Pittsburg. She was also loved by many cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
