Arthur Hartley "Lee" Wilson, Jr. son of Dr. Arthur H. Wilson and Gladys Harris Wilson died at Cornell University Hospital, New York, on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1987 after a long illness.
He was born in Hartford, May 25, 1940 and attended local schools in Hartford and Windsor. He was a member of Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church.
At an early age he showed signs of leadership and outstanding ability. He was the valedictorian of his graduating class in 1958 at Windsor High School. After graduation, he attended Harvard University in Cambridge, MA, majoring in English and French Literature and graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. degree. He did graduate work at the University of Sorbonne in Paris, France and at Columbia University, New York.
He was a Systems Analyst at the Navy Shipyard after which time he was drafted into the army and was stationed at Ft. Ritchie, MD as a Communication Specialist. After completing his service, he was employed as an Educational Consultant for Scott-Foresman and Co., Publishers.
He was employed at Warner Brothers in New York as Senior Publicist for several years and later transferred to its Burbank, CA office as Administrative Assistant to the Vice President in charge of world-wide advertising and publicity.
While employed at Warner Brothers, he compiled and edited "The Warner Brothers Golden Anniversary Book"; also he directed the national educational campaign for "All the President's Men".
Before his illness he was employed by Acker, Merrall & Condit, Inc., New York.
He leaves two sisters, Jane Wilson of Natick, MA and Charlotte Wilson of Hartford.
