Lois W. Coggin, 87, of Belton, died Monday, May 6, 2013, in a Temple hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Temple Christian Center in Temple with Rev. Kerry Sharp officiating. Burial will follow at the Davilla Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, at Dossman Funeral Home Chapel.
Lois was born in Topeka, Kansas, to the late Warren and Katherine (Houston) Wilson. She married Millard Coggin in 1968 in Lampasas. Lois worked for many years as a primary caregiver with Jackon Home Healthcare. She also worked at the Temple Christian Center Day Care. Lois was a volunteer with the Scott and White Yellowbirds, in the dialysis and the mammogram department. She was a poet and collected elephants, with over 780 elephants in her collection. Lois was a member of Temple Christian Center Church where she served as the missions' director for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 29, 1989; a daughter, Mildred Charlene Lee; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include sons, Chuck Hollingsworth and wife, Bernice, of Belton, and Ed Coggin and wife, Christine, of Belton; daughters, Mary Coggin Hunt and husband, Thomas, of Belton, and Susie Lee, of Buena Vista, Colorado; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; brothers John Wilson, of Missouri, and Ruth Crigler, of Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
