OBITUARY 2 from Tyrone Daily Herald August 5, 1993 page 2 - Laura P. Shawley - Former Employee Of Altoona Hospital - Laura P. Shawley, 83, of 907 4th Ave., Juniata, died Wednesday, August 4, 1993, at 9:30 a.m. at Mercy Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born Aug. 23, 1909, in Bellwood, a daughter of David and Mary (Close) Wilson. She married Fred W. Shawley December 11, 1928, in Ebensburg. He died March 28, 1978. She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Moyer, Juniata; Mrs. Thomas (Marjorie) Bowman, Juniata; and Mrs. Norman (Janet) Kibe, Greenwood; two sons, Albert, Pinecroft; and Baren, Bellwood; 28 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, a sister, Elizabeth Ingram, Juniata; and a brother, Kessler Wilson, Altoona. She was preceded in death by two sons, Fred and Bill and a sister, Cora Boyles. She attended Christ United Methodist Church, Tyrone, and was a housekeeper at the Altoona Hospital, retiring in 1963 after 16 years of service. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Feller Memorial Home with the Rev. Dale E. Parker officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Antis Township. Friends will be received at the Memorial Home today from 7-9 p.m. and from 1 p.m. until the our of the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, 8400 Roosevelt Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA, 19152.
