Elsa I. Watson, 83, of Greenwood Twp., passed away Sunday, November 9, 2008 in Oasis Care Center, Port Huron, following a long illness. She was born to Matt and Hulda Willing on October 14, 1925 in Wakefield, MI and married Robert Schlitt Sr. in 1949. Later she married Wayne Watson on February 9, 1963.
Elsa began working in the mail room at Mueller Brass Co. at the age of 16, and worked her way into the payroll department. She retired from Mueller after over 30 years of service. Following her retirement she volunteered at Mercy Hospital. She loved to play cards and especially loved to go to bingo.
Elsa is survived by her husband, Wayne Watson; two sons, Robert (Carol) Schlitt of Pensacola, FL and Douglas (Mary Ann) Schlitt of Port Huron; son-in-law, Dennis Livingston of Smiths Creek; three grandchildren, Kimberly Schlitt, Robbie Schlitt, and Adam (Alicia) Stevens; several step-grandchildren; several great and step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vic (Jean) Willing, and Waino (Betty) Willing, both of Port Huron; sister-in-law, Carol Watson of Port Huron; brother-in-law, Thomas (Karen) Watson of Port Huron; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Lorrine Hoffman and Tony and Donna Lepinski.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Judy Livingston; three brothers, two sisters; and her former husband, Robert Schlitt.
Cremation arrangements were by Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock St.
