Joyce Williams Arnold Johanson Carter, 69, died July 8, 2004, in a automobile accident near Chester. Joyce was born Sept. 29, 1934 in Chester, the daughter of Gomer Hugh Williams and Dorothy Elnora Howard Williams. She grew up in the Chester area where she attended elementary school, graduating from South Fremont High School in St. Anthony. She married Kyle Carter November 2002 in Rexburg, where they have lived since. She was previously married to Charles Lamar Arnold and Joe Johanson. She has lived in California, Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma, Virginia and South Carolina, before moving to Rexburg in l996. She was a member of the LDS Church. She was a great cook, liked to knit and crochet and enjoyed gardening. Joyce is survived by her children, Charles "Chuck" (Gretchen) Arnold of Waterloo, Iowa, Micheal (Evelyn) Arnold of Chino Hills, Calif., and Cindy Lynette (Paul) Hawes of Sumpter, S.C.; siblings, Mark (Beth) Williams of Wilford, Gordon H. (Cheryl) Williams, Wilma (Bill) Bowman, Marva (Gail) Bowman, Alice (Val) Richards and Mildred (Jack) Berkheimer, all of Chester; a stepbrother Gail (Jackie) Blanchard of Chester; a sister, Harriet (Garth) Hill of Salem, Utah; 10 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Darris Williams. Services conducted by Bishop Eric Olson of the Chester Ward in the Ashton LDS Stake Center.
