Funeral service for Karen Sue Clancy will be 1 p.m., Monday, March 19, at First Christian Church, Claremore, with Chaplain Jack Taylor officiating. A graveside service will follow at Chelsea Cemetery with Rev. Mark Newman officiating. Visitation will be held at the Chelsea Funeral Home & Crematory on Sat. 1-6 p.m., and at Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory, Claremore, on Sun. 1-6 p.m.

Karen died Thurs., March 15, 2007, at her home at the age of 61.

The daughter of Duane Hubert and Maxine (Mills) Williams was born Oct. 7, 1945, in Nowata. Karen attended school in Chelsea, graduating from Chelsea High School in 1963. In Dec. 1961, Karen married Wayne J. Morrison. She continued her education at Northeastern State University earning a bachelors and masters degree. Karen was a member of the National Honor Society at NSU. She worked for Dr. Charles Kouri as a dental assistant. After she finished school Karen taught elementary school with Chelsea Public Schools. She retired in 2004. In June 1980, Karen married Patrick Edward Clancy. Karen was a former member of the old "White Christian Church at White Hill", and the First Christian Church of Chelsea. She was currently a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Claremore. Karen served as a Sunday school teacher and Bible school teacher. She was also a Brownie Troop leader. Karen enjoyed yard work and playing the piano.

Karen was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick of the home; children: Tamara Sue Ellis and husband, Darren, Jerry Todd Morrison and wife, Deborah, and Gary Duane Morrison and wife, Debora all of Chelsea, and Carmen Michelle Thornton of the home; mother, Maxine Williams of Chelsea; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
