Marie was the daughter of Glen Lynn and Sophia (Purkins) Williams. Sister of Glen Lynn, Jr., Sophia (Bean) and living sister. Her maternal grandparents were William I. Purkins and Nannie Edward (Delony)...Her fraternal grandparents were John Graves and Ida Mae (Darby) Williams. All lived in Hope, AR. She married Raymond H. Tipton in 1948.
