Born April 6, 1913, in Butler, she was a daughter of William and Rose Portman Wilkin.
She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had formerly worked at the A.E. Troutman department store on Main Street.
Mrs. Cannon was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
She enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, and crossword puzzles.
Surviving are four sons and three daughters-in-law, Patrick J. Cannon and Marion of Butler, William E. and Karen Cannon of Brecksville, Ohio, Jerome T. Cannon of Bethel Park and Edward B. and Peg Cannon of Imperial. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Edward B. Cannon, whom she married in 1943, died Dec. 14, 1977. Also preceding her in death were a granddaughter, two brothers and a sister.
CANNON - Friends of Jean W. Cannon, who died Sunday, June 25, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery in Butler.
The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Y.W.C.A. Personal Care Home, 120 W. Cunningham St., Butler, PA 16001.
