Lillie Collean Hersey, 94, died Friday (January 19, 2024) at Harborview Satilla following an extended illness.
She was born in Atkinson County to the late Charlie J. Wildes and Maude Stone Wildes.

She was employed with John H. Swisher and Sons for 43 years. She was a member of Crossview Church of God of Prophecy, Dorcus Club, Homemakers Club and the Red Hat Society. She was also a member of MerryMakers at Central Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister who had a kind and gentle soul.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Edgar Hersey; three sisters, Mary Hill Harrell, Eurice Fleming and Cloice Joiner; and three brother-in-laws, Kent Fleming, Albert Joiner, and Ed Harrell.
Left to carry on by her son, Donald Edgar Hersey (Jane) of Waycross;
two grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Hersey of Waycross, Matthew Donald Hersey (Savannah Strickland) of Waycross;
a step granddaughter, Traci Helms of Brunswick;
and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday (January 21, 2024) at Music Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will begin receiving friends at Music Funeral Home on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday at Kettle Creek Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Harborview Satilla and Heartland Hospice who helped Mrs. Hersey during this difficult time.
