She was born on August 1, 1933 in Odell, Nebraska to Henry and Hannah (Duis) Wieters and was a 1951 graduate of Odell High School. Helen and Arlin F. Holle were married on April 13, 1952 at Lanham, Kansas and they moved to Beatrice in 1954. She had been a teacher for Nebraska District #57 (one room schoolhouse near Odell); a Nurse's Aide at the Beatrice Community Hospital; and a receptionist at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice. Helen was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Beatrice, the Dorcas Circle, the LWML and Aid Association of Lutherans (Thrivent) at the church. She was presented the Employee of the Year Award for the Beatrice Community Hospital in 1986, and the Nebraska Hospital Association Caring Kind Award in 1986. Helen enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and fishing.
Survivors include two sons, Jay Holle and wife Jana of Olathe, Kan. and Don Holle and wife Sandy of Prior Lake, Minn.; three grandchildren, Greg Holle and wife Danielle of Olathe, Nick Holle of Lincoln, and Sierra Holle of Prior Lake, Minn.; one brother Harold Wieters and wife Velora of Odell; and several nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Hannah (Duis) Wieters; husband Arlin (1996); and brother Richard Wieters.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Reverend Douglas Irmer officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice. The body will lie in state Thursday from noon-5:00 and Friday from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with the family greeting friends Friday from 6:30-8 p.m., and at the church one hour preceding the service on Saturday. A family prayer services will be held at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.
