Anna M. Waddell age 106, passed away Tuesday May 26 2015 at home. "She made all things beautiful". A woman of deep faith & prayer, Anna was born at home & raised on a small farm in Kansas City, Kansas, passing away at her daughter's home in Olathe where she lived the past 5 years. Daughter of Anton & Teresa Widmar, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Waddell (1978) & 4 siblings, Anthony Widmar, Theresa Theno, Mary Brown & Emily Green. Survivors: 3 children, Mary Ann Grelinger (Paul) Olathe, Donald A Waddell (Kathy) OR & Carole J Barry (David) CO, 12 grandchildren, Dan Grelinger (Deanna), Ann Sanders (Bob), Joan Radakovich (Phil), Barbara Phillips (Clay), Tom Grelinger (Beth), Peter Waddell (Christine), Christine Lund (Marc), Matthew Waddell (Bronwyn), James Waddell (Sahara), Deborah Barry, Stacey Patton (Scott), Jessica Barry- Okahara (Kyle), 27 great grandchildren & beloved niece, Mildred Theno. A farm woman, Anna & her dad took a horse and wagon to deliver produce to the K C MO Farmer's market. She was an avid gardener of produce and flowers. Her life centered on God, Church & Family. She enjoyed travel, fishing, ceramics & any game that anyone was willing to play. She remained independent in her home to age 101, still mowing her yard at age 100 & fishing at 104. We wish to thank caregivers who have helped Anna for the past 6 years, Nancy, Meghan, Genevieve, Regina, Jeanette, Sr. Henri, Catholic Charities Hospice & Frs. Curtis, Fongemie & Nolan FSSP. A founding member of Christ the King Church, 53rd & Leavenworth, Road, The family will receive friends from 5:00- 7:00 PM., Friday., May 29, 2015 at the Mary Butler Meyers Funeral Home, 6300 Parallel Pkwy., Kansas City, KS., where the rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM. A Mass will be celebrated at Christ The King Catholic Church,10:00 AM, May 30, 2015 Burial will be Mount Calvary Cemetery at 38th & State Ave, KCK. In lieu of flowers, Mass cards or donations to Christ the King Church or Catholic Charities Hospice of Northeast Kansas may be offered.
