Linda T. Widdifield

ALBANY, Ga. Linda Tranbarger Widdifield went to be with her Savior Wednesday, Sept. 17. 2003 in Albany, Ga., as a result of an automobile accident.

She had lived in Albany the last 24 years, with her husband Eric, who preceded her in death in 2000.

Linda was born March 3, 1953 in Elwood, to Bill and Chris Tranbarger.

She graduated from Anderson High School in 1971. She was active with the Vocational-Industrial Club of America. She worked several years as a dental lab technician.

Linda moved to Albany with her husband Eric in 1979.

She retired from Delco Remy with a medical disability. Linda enjoyed playing the piano. She loved cats, especially her special kitties Tigger, Dooney, Bibber, and Dinkus. Linda attended the Bible Baptist Church of Albany. She loved reading her Bible. She had recently renewed her faith and commitment to Christ after struggling for several years with alcohol dependency. She had looked forward to returning to Anderson to live and to attend church, where she hoped to actively share her testimony to young people about the saving grace of God and His power to free a person from drug abuse.

She is survived by her father and mother, Bill and Chris Tranbarger. She has a brother Steve (Charlotte) Tranbarger of Anderson; a nephew, Matthew Tranbarger of Anderson; a niece Rachel (Jerry) Landers and their children Levi, Luke and Leah who reside in Anderson. Her sister Sandi (Pastor Ron) Hunt lives in San Jose, Calif., with their children April, Courtney, Kirsten, and Lauren Hunt. She also has several cousins living in Elwood.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Home in Anderson. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Keith McKain officiating and Pastor Jeff Floyd singing. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Elwood.
