Danny E. Widdifield, 61, passed away Friday, May 2, 2008, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was employed with Slater Steel for 32 years, retiring on Oct. 31, 2003. He was a Sergeant U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed riding his lawn tractor, loved watching TV and talking on his cell phone.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Connie D. Widdifield of Fremont; son, Jon D. Widdifield of Charlotte, N.C.; daughters, Angie N. (Ted) Bowser of Spencerville and Gina R. Widdifield of Woodburn; mother of his children, Elaine Widdifield; step-sons, Alan D. Fanning of Fremont and Marc D. Fanning of Fort Wayne; stepdaughters, Jennifer (Eric) Miller of Angola, Lori (Mike Dudley) Fanning of Avilla and Lana (Jeff Bauhof) Fanning of Fremont; father, William Widdifield Sr. of Fort Wayne; brother, William R. (Marcia) Widdifield Jr. of Fort Wayne; sisters, Mary Kay (Bill) Same of New Haven and Kathy (Tom) Rinehold of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Justin, Teagan Widdifield, Dakota, Daniel Bowser, Celeste, Alex, Jarrett, Cain, Courtney, Briana, Clea and Boden.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Angie Widdifield; and grandson, T.J. Bowser, in 1999.
Service is 2 p.m. Wednesday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Calling is from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
