Mrs. Mary J. Baumgardner, residing at the Soldiers' Home, passed away at that institution yesterday morning, death resulting from heart failure. Mrs. Baumgardner was born in Pennsylvania on October 28, 1832, and had reached the ripe old age of 84 years and eight months. She leaves to mourn her loss two daughters, Mrs. George Williams of Norfolk, Neb., and Mrs. Spencer of Alliance, Neb., her husband having preceded her in death some time ago. The remains were shipped to Alliance on No. 41 last evening, accompanied by her daughters, where interment will take place.

Mrs. George Williams, of Norfolk, and Mrs. W. E. Spencer, of Alliance, came to Grand Island Wednesday to take charge of the remains of their mother, Mrs. M. J. Baumgardner. The body was sent to Alliance for burial. Mrs. Baumgardner was taken ill with acute indigestion Sunday morning and passed away Tuesday afternoon.
