OBITUARY
The Rochester Sentinel

Friday, September 30, 1955

Mrs. Daisy MERLEY, 78, died at 6:25 a.m. today at her home two miles west of Akron. She had been a resident of Henry township her entire life and died at the homestead where she was born.

The daughter of William and Sarah (CURTIS) WHITTENBERGER, she was born Jan. 28, 1877. Her husband, Frank MERLEY, to whom she was married in January, 1896, preceded her in death. She was a member of the Omega Home Ec club.

Survivors are two sons, Don [MERLEY], R.R. 2, Macy, and Nyle [MERLEY], Akron; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. A daughter and two sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Moyer-Haupert fneral home, Akron. The Rev. Claude FAWNS will officiate and burial will be in the Akron cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Saturday. It was Mrs. Merley's request that flowers be omitted.
