David Truman Whiteaker went home to be with Jesus on June 3, 2016 after a long and valiant fight against heart disease. David was born in Midland, Texas on July 16, 1942. He and his family moved to Georgetown in 1954 and bought a place in the country they named Double D Farms for their children.

David married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Caddell, on April 13, 1962. They had two sons, Mark Anthony and David Lee.

David was a 55 year member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 286 in Austin. After that he went into business for himself with a commercial mechanical contracting business. He later retired and returned to his favorite pastime, raising and watching his cattle and horses. All his cattle were gentle from the many hours he spent just observing and handling them. He also raised and raced some quarter horses which was another great pleasure and pride but not nearly as great a joy as his grandkids.

David never met a stranger and had a gift for gab. He made friends wherever he went. We know he is very happy in heaven with his father, Truman Whiteaker, and loved ones who have gone on before him.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, sons, Mark and wife,Nancy Whiteaker, granddaughter, Shelby; son Lee and wife, Renee, grandkids, Makayla, Truman, and Dixie Whiteaker; mother, Allene Whiteaker; brothers, Donnie and wife ,Elizabeth Whiteaker, Dickie and wife, Karen Whiteaker; sister, Dena Foster; nephews and neices, Wes Whiteaker, Brandon Whiteaker, Justin Foster, Dusti Stafford, Lacey Hatley and their spouses and children; uncle, Pete Hughey, and family and many more relatives and friends.

Burial will be held at Berry Creek Cemetery in Georgetown.
