Redmond resident Marie Eileen Doan died July 8, 2004, at the age of 76.
Mrs. Doan was born April 12, 1928, in Sedro-Woolley, Wash., to parents David and Thelma (Riggles) White. She graduated from high school in Sedro-Woolley, and on May 10, 1952, married Charles Doan in Idaho.
She helped her husband by running a bulldozer in the family logging business. Later, she worked as a caregiver in home health care in Central Oregon. They also owned a small grocery store "Avon General Store" in Avon, Wash., from 1967 to 1972. The Doans moved to Prineville in 1972, Madras in 1974, Culver in 1979, and have lived in Redmond for the past eight years.
Survivors include her sons, John Doan of Salem, Rick of Klamath Falls, Jay of Puyallup, Wash., Charles Jr. of Spanaway, Wash, and Darryl Tubbs of Prineville; daughter, Char Doan of Moses Lake, Wash.; brothers, Marvin White of Dalles, Ore., and John White of Chester, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 26, 1986, her parents, one brother and one sister.
Graveside services were held July 10, at Mt. Jefferson Memorial Park in Madras under the direction of Autumn Funerals of Redmond.
