An artist, Isaman and her husband Lafayette, a grain merchant who had served in the Civil War, moved from Nebraska to Pasadena in 1902 where Sara became very active in the local art scene and wrote articles for the "Daily News." Lafayette Isaman's body rests nearby (b. 1845; d. 1926).
