Floyd E. White, Jr., 86, of Peru, passed away at 9:12 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Culver on Nov. 25, 1928 the son of Floyd E. and Lucille Kessler White. Floyd married Elizabeth "Betty" McKinley at the Main Street United Methodist Church, Peru on Aug. 9, 1953 and she survives.
Floyd was a 1948 graduate of Peru High School and a US Army Veteran. He was a member of the McGrawsville United Methodist Church and the Peru-Miami Lodge #67 F&AM. Floyd was a pipefitter with the Chrysler Corp. retiring in 1993 and he and his wife Betty owned and operated Chez Lyzanne in Peru from 1973 to 1992.
He was a true American Patriot serving God, Country and his family whom he loved dearly. He enjoyed his role as grandfather as witnessed by his attendance at various activities of grandchildren. He took pleasure in camping, playing cards, and spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Betty, are daughters, Kimberly Buzbee and her husband Phillip of North Manchester, Kristi Shawhan and her husband Rex of The Villages, Florida; a sister Melba Easterday of Culver; grandchildren Adam (Traci) Buzbee, Anthony (Carissa) Buzbee, Brandon (Kourtney) Shawhan and Tiffany (Josh) Morgan and great-grandchildren Kyle Buzbee, Caden Buzbee, Bryan Buzbee, Shelby Buzbee, Caleb Buzbee and Parker Shawhan. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Melvin and Perry White and sisters Betty White and Vona Belle Hartz.

A service celebrating the life of Floyd E. White, Jr. will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at the McGrawsville United Methodist Church, 9377 S. 300 E., Amboy with Pastors Steve Austin and Kenneth Cole officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Peru. Family and friends will gather from 4 - 7 p.m., Friday at the McGrawsville United Methodist Church.
