Irene V. "Winnie" White, 89, Kokomo, formerly of Peru, passed away at 6 a.m. on June 22, 2007 at North Woods Village, Kokomo, after an extended illness.

She was born on January 19, 1918 in Logansport to Edward O. and Eunice P. Parker Brooks. She married Neal R. White on September 2, 1939 and he passed away on September 8, 1985.



Winnie was a homemaker and an active member of Holy Trinity Anglican Catholic Church.

Survivors include a nephew, Phil Brooks, Peru; a cousin, Norma Biddle, Peru; a sister-in-law, Norma Brooks, California; a half-brother, Lynn Michener, California; and several great and great-great nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Anglican Catholic Church, Peru, with Rev. Douglas Hungerford officiating with burial to follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.


Visitation is from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday, at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, who is caring for arrangements.

Memorial contributions can be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Catholic Church or the activities department at North Woods Village, Kokomo.
