Birth: 1923
Death: Mar. 29, 2011

Margaret Mary Peg (White) Lahage, 88, of Scituate, formerly of Hull, passed away peacefully at home with her family March 29, 2011. Peg was the beloved wife of 42 years of the late Felix J. Lahage. She was the loving mother of Molly Lahage and Kate Lahage of Hull, John Lahage and Mary Lahage of Scituate, Thomas Lahage of Sacramento, Calif., the late Daniel Lahage of Marshfield; and her daughter-in-law, Veronica Bache-Lahage of Marshfield. She is survived by her loving grandchildren, Kristen, Katie, Malcolm and Nick; and her sister, Eleanor Volpe of Newport, R.I.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Edward A. White of Falls Church, Md. A graduate of Hingham High School, Peg was a full-time homemaker who took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic who found great strength in her faith. Peg also was a volunteer at St. Colletta's School in Hanover for several years. She always held the children who attended the school in great affection and was very proud of their accomplishments. Her love of the sea, especially Nantasket Beach, provided some of her fondest memories. Her days spent there as a child and later as a mother with her own children across the street from Paragon Park where her husband's family owned and operated a business, were among her happiest. A voracious reader, Peg could be found most evenings with a book in hand and her beloved dog Boo at her feet. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate. Interment Hull Village Cemetery, Hull. In lieu of flowers, please forward donations to St. Colletta's School, 405 Washington St., Hanover, MA 02339, or Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Bay State Drive, Braintree, MA 02184.
