Percy Miller Whitby, 87, of Friendship, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Bells Nursing Home.

He was a farmer, ginner and a member of Friendship Emmanuel Church.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Dean officiating. Burial will be in Bellevernon Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include four daughters, Joan Dean of Bourbonnais, Ill., and Elaine Smallwood, Amanda Smallwood and Priscilla Ward, all of Friendship; a son, Mitchell Whitby of Jackson; a sister, Juanita Bradley of Nashville; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Martha Jones Whitby; his parents, William Edward Whitby and Laura Alice Strange Whitby; three sisters, Alavern King, Blondell Castellaw and Lillian Rogers; and two brothers, J.W. Whitby and Willie D. Whitby.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
