Former Monument resident June Whitaker Hutchison, 73, of Prineville died June 2.
She was born June 28, 1929, to Joseph and Clara (Savage) Hutchison at Elba, Idaho, where she attended school.
On Oct. 24, 1946, she married Cloyd Ransom Hutchison at Elba. They raised their family at Monument and moved to Prineville in 1972.
Mrs. Hutchison enjoyed reading, sewing and spending time with her family. She loved horses and served as Cassia County Rodeo Queen in 1945.
She was a homemaker and bartender, and later worked at American Moulding until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 148 and past president of the district Legion Auxiliary.
Mrs. Hutchison is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and John Gienger of Monument, Lynn and Dan Gienger of Prineville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Forrest and Janet Hutchison of Prineville and Sheldon and Lusee Hutchison of Bangkok, Thailand; sisters, Ora Mathews of California and Betty Eames of Burley, Idaho; sisters-in-law, Glenna Whitaker of Burley, Idaho, and Ida Whitaker of Twin Falls, Idaho; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Cloyd Ransom Hutchison; son, David Wayne Hutchison; brothers, Guy, Dale and Ted Whitaker; sister, Clara Whitaker; grandson, David Allen Gienger and great-granddaughter, Ashley Gienger.
A memorial service was held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Monument Cemetery under the direction of Whispering Pines Funeral Home of Prineville.
